IMACC Consumer Anti-Fraud Protection Policy:
The IMACC "No Surprises Guaranty"
IMACC Contractors provide written assurances that they will not charge an amount greater than what is agreed upon by your adjuster, other than your dedudctible unless you are provided with a written notice and estimate in advance before that aspect of the work is started.
This means that you will only have to pay your deductible as an out-of pocket expense. Many restoration contractors will charge property owners an amount in excess of that which an adjuster agrees to pay. This places the property owner in the difficult situation of having to pay the difference which could amount to many thousands of dollars.
IMACC believes that if your adjuster feels the estimated and invoiced amount for your repairs is not justifiable, either the contractor must provide a proper and adequate explanation for the charges that the adjuster agrees to, or that amount is deducted from the bill.
Consumers need to be aware that many contractors will not agree to this, resulting in liens and foreclosures or other harsh economic impacts on property owners.
Detailed and Accurate Work Photos
All damage and subsequent repairs are photo documented to verify both the necessity of the scope of repairs as well as the satisfactory completion of all work as estimated and approved by your adjuster.
This means that there will be no questions later as to whether or not the repairs were appropriately estimated.
Completed work photos increase accountability to both the comprehensiveness and quality of the work performed.
Standard Pricing Guidelines
All IMACC Contractors follow pricing guidelines that are independently established by the nation's largest restoration estimating software company, Xactimate.
Xactimate pricing is recognized and accepted as an industry standard by many of the largest insurers and the majority of all insurers.
Deviations from the established pricing are documented for your adjuster's review and approval in the event the particular item of repair is uniquely different from established norms or expected complexity.
Self-Policing Network
IMACC uses peer reviews, random reinspections, and virtual oversight to help assure that the work estimated and completed is both necessary and properly done.
These reviews are conducted both randomly and based on a variety of propriatary factors that may trigger a reinspection by another IMACC Contractor and/or one of IMACC's Internal Auditors.
IMACC provides property owners with the opportunity to rate the service they received through our Web-based survey system.
All IMACC Contractors must maintain a satisfactory service rating based on these survey results as well as other performance-based factors, including adherence to IMACC Documentation Standards.
